Perched On The Dunny Pondering.

Every now and then in our life we've all been Perched On The Dunny Pondering. For that reason here are a handfull of odds and ends to ponder over.

Its against the law to drink and drive, so why do ya need a drivers licence to purchase grog?.

Do steam rollers really roll steam?.

Which will fall on the front lawn first?, A Autumn leaf or a Christmas catalogue?.

Why is it when ya haul ya merchandise by car its called a ship-ment, but when ya haul ya merchandise by ship its called car-go!.

Can you repeat the part after "Listen to this very carefully, i'm only going to say it once!.

When you decamp from the dunny with your replies please don't forget to flush and wash ya hands.

Until next time jolly pondering.

Steam rollers were propelled by steam when they first appeared to roll over things. Like fields or roads. They were behemoths, and probably instilled sufficient fright to send a lad to the dunny, trembling.

Autumn leaf or Christmas catalogue?
That probably depends on which hemisphere you're living in.
Or which month you're asking your question....
Like Joanne said, steam rollers were originally steam powered.

Steam rollers roll more than just steam: they flatten cartoon characters to the size of a sheet of paper, making it easier to slip them under doors [before miraculously reverting to their original size and shape].

The ship-ment cargo conundrum is a new and refreshing take on "Why do noses run but feet smell?"
Good one!

It is Australia Day and steam rollers made this country. I'll not hear a word against them. Not one word.

G' Day JOANNE: And scare the living daylights out of the wildlife with the racket.

G' Day RIVER: I'd say the autumn leaf/catalogue one would apply to countries like America etc, etc. It just seemed like the steam roller was rolling steam.

G' Day FRUIT CAKE: I remember the steam roller trick very well now that you mention it. The nose/feet one is a good 'un.

G' Day BEACH BUM: I had a sneaky suspicion that would be the case.

G' Day ANDREW: You won't get any argument out of me on that score.

G' Day YGRAINE: I'm happy you had fun.
