Fair Dinkum Haiku 065: Stalagmites.

In spacious grotto.
Stalagmites spring from the ground.
Like gnarled sentinels.

Very nice!

Visited some cave up in Tennessee once and that is exactly what they look like.

stalagmites and stalactites, seen them, admired them, but never thought to sing a haiku for them.

Took me AGES to learn the difference btw stalagmites and stalactites when I was young! Maybe that's why I've always been fascinated by them - and therefore love this tribute!!

stalagmites or stalactites, I’m always confused about these terms.
